When did you first become a member at EPIC?

I joined Epic in the middle of December 2015.

What made you want try EPIC?

I had attended the Badass Challenge and the hikes at Wachusetts with Dan (my son). Everyone involved was friendly and supportive of each other and they were having fun while working out. It made me want to try it.

What were your goals when you started? Have you reached them? If so, have you set further expectations for yourself?

My immediate goal when I joined was not to die or throw up in front of these people who were young enough to be my kids! My goal in joining was to be stronger so that my horseback riding would improve and to give myself something physical to do during the winter.

I am pleased to say that I far exceeded my expectations. I had never worked out or been athletic in my life. I found exercise boring. There is nothing boring about working out at EPIC!! I lost weight and went from a size 12 pant to a size 6 without getting sickly skinny. I have muscles! I have lost back fat and for women, as you age, that is so hard to do.

You won the EPIC Providence New Years Challenge! What/who helped push you to work so hard through those 45 days?

My son is a huge source of my motivation. He is always encouraging me to push myself out of my comfort zone. Everyday during the challenge the men and women at EPIC and the coaches were positive, encouraging, generous and helpful. Working out with such an incredible group of people inspired me to keep at it even when I was tired.

Anything else you’d like to say about EPIC?

It certainly changed my life. I wish all women my age would give it a try. It makes you realize that you can do just about anything no matter your age.
